Description

This event offers presentations by NIHR Trainee Coordinating Centre and NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) London. You will also hear from successful Fellowship applicant Dr Richard Ma who received a Doctoral Research Fellowship in 2017.

There will also be an opportunity to network, and to ask advisers from NIHR Trainee Coordinating Centre and NIHR RDS London questions about the fellowship programmes and how to get help with your research idea and/or application.

The programme will cover:
14:00-14:15 - Arrival and registration

14:15-14:40 - Overview of NIHR Fellowship scheme – Peter Thompson, NIHR Trainee Coordinating Centre
14:40 – 15:00 - Experiences of a successful applicant – Dr Richard Ma, Imperial College London
15:00 – 15:15 - Role of academic supervisor and host institution (Paul Allen, Queen Mary University of London)
15:15-15:30 - Overview of RDS London (RDS London representative)

Networking and questions
15:45-17:00 - Tea & coffee served.
Representatives from RDS London and NIHR Trainee Coordinating Centre will be available to answer questions
