Please come along to this event to hear more about Leeds Museums and Galleries collections from the curators that look after them. These collections - containing over one million objects - are some of the best outside of London, with a number of collections with designated national significance status.

At the event - open to researchers at the University of Leeds from any discipline - the Cultural Institute team will introduce a new fund established to allow academics to undertake a small research project inspired by collections, and answer any questions you may have about applying. With this fund, we hope to encourage small but beneficial partnerships with a wide range of academic disciplines. We aim to make eight awards of £500 each.

We are looking for proposals that are innovative and help develop fresh understandings of the collections. This might include proposals for new interpretations, talks or events of interest to a general audience, but we are happy to consider compelling ideas that fall outside these simple categories. There may be commonalities between your research and collections in areas such as climate change, biodiversity, health and well-being or engineering.
