Event description
A research methods training day for PGR students in the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies at Liverpool John Moores University

About this Event

We are hosting a research methods event as requested by our PGR students in the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies on Thursday 21st June in the John Foster Building. The day will involve a series of interactive workshops run by experts ranging from ethnography, auto-ethnography, mixed methods approaches, researching media industries, curatorial practice, practice as research....and more! A full programme for the day can be found here.

We are especially excited to welcome Dr Sophie Woodward, University of Manchester, who will be hosting a workshop entitled Using Objects to Think, Talk & Write With as part of the day.

In addition our PGR representatives will be hosting a PGR forum around the theme of making methodological decisions on the PhD journey: a great chance for you to come and talk about your approaches to doing research; the successes as well as some of the difficulties and challenges.

The day will round off with a wine reception- and of course we will have a delicious lunch for you too, accompanied by an open archive session exhibiting artefacts from England’s Dreaming: The Jon Savage Archive.
