About this event

A Big House Event supported by Creative Quarter & delivered by LEADD:NG

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Augmented reality (AR) creates enhanced experiences for users by seamlessly blending the physical ‘real-world’ with overlaid virtual information, for example: digitally overlaying visual objects on the physical world viewed through a phone camera and an App. AR also extends to other technologies and senses and can be used to create both memorable and immersive experiences for users.

This workshop will begin by exploring AR technology in greater depth: How does it work? What are its limitations? What are its potential uses and applications? After looking at some innovative examples of AR experiences that explore the conference theme of digital disruption, attendees will be introduced to a web-based AR application which they will have the opportunity to try out and customise themselves using only a few lines of code.

In order to engage with the web-based AR application attendees will need to have a laptop (mac or pc) with a web cam and wi-fi.
