An Arabic–Latin logo matchmaking workshop led by graphic designer Azza Alameddine, open to anyone interested in lettering and typography. Participants are introduced to the differences between the six traditional Arabic calligraphic styles and the context in which they are most commonly used today, and will have the chance to match traditional Arabic type to Latin logos to finally produce their own re-imagined Arabic typography. No previous experience necessary and participants don’t need to be native Arabic speakers. For all ages from 14+.
Session runs until 13.30 • All materials are provided
Azza Alameddine has been working as a graphic designer for six years in Lebanon, the Netherlands and the UK. She holds a BA in visual communication from Creapole, Paris and a Masters in Typeface Design from the University of Reading.
