About this event

  • 1 hour

Welcome to this session for midwifery students provided by Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC). The session is offered for free, but donations are kindly encouraged to sustain our ability to offer these sessions for free. Please see details below on how to donate.

This 1-hour session will focus on how to deliver high-quality care through antenatal screening, testing and diagnosis. We will discuss strategies for communicating unexpected and difficult news such as a high chance screening result, how to best support parents' decision-making and how Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC) can help support you in your work.

ARC is the only national charity providing non-directive, individualised information and support through antenatal screening and diagnosis. We exist to support parents in making informed and personal decisions about their pregnancy, recognising that for many parents antenatal screening and diagnosis may cause uncertainty and anxiety. As an organisation, we utilise the unique insight gained over our 30 years of supporting parents to inform the training sessions we offer for healthcare professionals as well as students.

This session is aimed at midwifery students but we encourage anyone studying towards a profession where antenatal screening is featured to take part. Please note that the session contains interactive elements.
