Tango, arts and community:
We are excited to announce our December edition of Arcade Tango Art Project at the Yoga Tree Stirling. Step into the tango world right in the centre of Stirling, but hidden in its inner Gallery, at the beautiful venue of the Yoga Tree Stirling! Situated in beautifully restored Victorian Stirling Arcade, which with its distinctive architecture reminds of streets of Buenos Aires, the venue features great floor and charming atmosphere.
Tango Art Project started in Alloa last year, and the initiative started with our art partner, Karen Strang (local artist). Now, it is based at the Stirling Arcade (Fridays). Since Alloa, YirajeTango worked very closely with Catherine King (Artist Printmaker). Arcade Tango Art Project aims to integrate the local community, local artists, and dancers. The event is well known at the national level, and it is one of the favorite places of tango dancers in the Central Belt of Scotland.
Arcade tango is a family oriented event, you can join us anytime, feel free to bring your friends and family members. We encourage parents to bring their children since our events are oriented to reinforce family values. Several parents brought their children whilst they stayed dancing. Tango art is about sharing a moment with friends and family. The event is open to the general public albeit the interaction of dancers and artists. There are two main activities, tango dance and art (draw/display, and photography). The context is very friendly, and gives you the change to think broader about the way that we socialise in the evenings. Stirling lacked options beyond the night pubs and restaurants, but now you have the chance to re discover the positive effect that arts can have in your personal, social, and family life.
To date, there are no other events that could integrate people, communities, and artists from the Central Belt of Scotland and the UK like Arcade Tango Art Project.
This weekend we are organising two events. Friday 2 December, 19.30 - 23.45 Arcade Milonga, and Sunday 4 December Arcade Dominguero, 13.00 - 17.00
