Event description

Description

The Archaeology Collection is a valuable teaching collection of artefacts ranging in date from the Palaeolithic to the Roman Period representing civilizations from as far as Egypt and Mesopotamia, through Greece and Rome to here in Britain. Assembled from gifts to the University, loans from Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and finds from the University's own excavations it provides students with the opportunity to see at close quarters objects which illustrate the achievements of the cultures they are studying. Join Research and Cultural Collections to discover more and get the chance to handle a range of fascinating archaeological artefacts.

The event will take place in the Archaeology Museum, Room 305 of the Arts Building (R16 on campus map). We will meet in the Arts Building reception (ground floor). Please arrive five minutes before to ensure a prompt start.
