Come along and join us on Saturday 5 July, when we will be hosting a special open day where you can find out more about the results of the archaeological investigations which have been taken place at Kilmocholmóg field, Lurgan.

Over the past few weeks archaeologists from the Northern Archaeological Consultancy have been working with community volunteers to uncover the remains of an early medieval settlement (AD 400-1100) in Kilmocholmóg field, whose name means 'church of my little Colman'.

The open day is your chance to visit the excavation, meet the archaeologists involved and view some of the more interesting finds recovered so far which include an array of prehistoric flint, early medieval ceramics, iron nails, glass beads and post-medieval pottery and glassware.

As part of the morning the following activities will also be taking place:

- Site Tours

- Blacksmithing demonstration

- Spinning and weaving demonstrations

- Artefact handling

- Ground Penetrating Radar demonstration

Directions to car park:

The meeting point/car park will be a field, accessed via a single track lane, situated next to the private residence of 96 Kilmore Road, Lurgan, BT67 9LW.

A s the lane permits only a single car we would ask you arrive punctually at your time to avoid the lane being backed up.
