Part of Crystal Palace Park Trust's free Summer of Play, this is an introduction to archery activity facilitated by Active Growth. In this session you will be introduced to range safety, archery equipment and the techniques required to successfully and safely use the recurve bow.

Archery is one of the oldest sports still practised today, and is an excellent mindfulness tool, helping with focus, lowering heart rate and stress and providing an immediate sense of personal achievement.

There are three 60 minute sessions which have been programmed to be age appropriate for participants aged 8 to 18*:

10:00-11:00: 8+

11:30-12:30: 8+

13:00-14:00: 8+

*Under 14’s must be accompanied / observed throughout the session by a responsible adult.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible and ask that you let us know if you have any particular requirements at point of booking.

Check in opens 15 minutes before each session at the event site, which is near the park's Secret Garden (click here for the check in location). On arrival you will be met by a member of staff who will check you in. There will be a mandatory safety briefing where you will be introduced to the range, the equipment and shooting techniques. You will then be provided with instruction in how to fire the recurve bow and progress onto free shooting as part of a group of archers firing simultaneously.

This is a FREE ADMISSION event. Tickets are limited to four (4) per person.
