Speaker: Steven Yates, Director, CTO, Alumni Services

Steven is passionate about bringing people, process, and technology together to achieve tangible outcomes. He has over 20 years' experience working in many roles, including chief technology officer, chief operating officer, director of strategy & consulting, enterprise architect, consultant, and agile coach across a variety of industries. Steve has extensive experience working with the executive suite to simplify and align agile, dev-ops, cloud transformation and architectural initiatives.

Steven has held executive leadership delivery and coaching positions and helped grow businesses across Africa, the UK, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Steven holds the Togaf 9 Enterprise Architect qualification and is a Certified Trainer (ExecuTrain). He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from University Pretoria and BSc in Computer Science from Rhodes University.

Speaker : Darrell Smith, Digital Transformation Consultant at Alumni Services

Darrell enjoyed a 25 year career at BT in a number of management and leadership roles across sales, design, testing and customer service operations. In 2013 he took on his first CIO role at BT Fleet where he led a major transformation programme – creating digital experiences for customers, service operations and vehicle mechanics. In 2015 he became CIO for the BT UK SME and Corporate Channels where he led a major systems simplification and rationalisation programme.

Since leaving BT he co-founded a boutique software development business serving the UK SME market and now heads up the UK business for Alumni Services.

Darrell has a BEng in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Bristol University and an MSc in Major Programme Management from Oxford University.
