We’ll begin at The London Centre with a brief model talk from NLA. This will cover the fabric that makes up London as we know it today as well as the changes and additions that are expected in the city’s future.
Following this, we’ll be able to identify on the model the different buildings and areas we are set to explore on our sketchcrawl and head outside. We will guide you through the basics of observational and architectural drawing, helping you translate what you see onto the page. You’ll have time at each location to sketch, photograph, or simply take it all in - and of course, you’re welcome to draw between stops while on the move!
We’ll wrap up the day back at The London Centre with a giant collaborative drawing of London: Past, Present and Future as well as a relaxed show & tell to share your observations, drawings, and reflections with some tea, coffee and biscuits.
This sketchcrawl is ideal for all creatives, history lovers, and urban explorers alike. Whether you’re a seasoned doodler, or you haven’t picked up a pencil in years, we would love for you to join us - you can expect a relaxed, welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Please do bring drawing materials and sketchbooks with you if possible, along with a comfy pair of shoes and an explorer’s spirit!
This event is open to all skill levels and is designed for adults and young people aged 16+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early in order to sign in and prepare your materials. The event is limited to 25 participants, and we will send further details to all our sketchers in the week leading up to the event.
