Architectural Walk with Caroline MacMillan - Southern Brook Green
Thu 13 October 2016, 11:00 – 12:30 BST
KOFMA (Kensington Olympia Festival of Music and the Arts) is delighted to welcome Caroline MacMillan.
Caroline has lived in west London most of her life and for several years has been guiding walks in the area. With the interesting and historical facts she has meticulously reached she brings to life those who have lived in and around Brook Green over the centuries. Her walks are informal and informative and, as she always says, ‘to be enjoyed’.

Southern Brook Green
With the Brook Green Hotel as your starting point, Caroline’s walk around Brook Green takes you past hidden almshouses and the site of former grand houses, one of which was home to the first actor to be knighted. Brook Green has been the inspiration to several musicians who have lived and worked here whilst Charles Dickens often visited a literary friend in Rowan Road. Find out where the council threatened to build a new town hall and what Sir Joseph Bazalgette did with Black Bulls Ditch.
