Description

Sunday 28th April @ 2pm

Iif you live in, work in, know and love Saltburn, Redcar and the Tees Valley then don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience a remarkable mix of archive footage all about the places – and people - we know so well, as the North East Film Archive takes you on a journey through time revealing the rich film heritage of our North East coastline.

This unmissable film show will reveal the stories of our coastal communities, from the industrial hinterlands along the Tees in the 1930s, downstream to the toe-dipping delights of 30s and 50s bucket-and-spade holidays in Saltburn and Redcar that attracted locals and visitors alike. With steelworks, the handsome Ha’Penny Bridge and elegant Victorian pier at Saltburn as a familiar backdrop, you’re bound to recognise familiar faces and places, and who knows, perhaps you might even spot family or friends fleetingly captured on film.

This film show is part of North East Film Archive’s North East on Film project, re-connecting the people of the region with their film heritage through special screenings, events and online collections.
