Archive Sector Enterprise Training (ASSET) Module 2

Description
The aim of the ASSET training course is to provide archive sector professionals with skills necessary to contribute to achieving the BFI Film Forever strategic priority 'Unlocking the UK's Film Heritage'. This course is created by KES International. The module will be taught by Sue Malden, Chair of FOCAL International and plus guest speakers.
Module 2: Moving Image Archives: The Film to Digital Transition
Indicative Topics for Module 2 of 5:
- Key Archiving Principles including aims and motivation for archiving; the archiving lifecycle - acquisition, intake, preservation, storage, identification, cataloguing, metadata creation; analogue formats
- Digital Archiving Principles: digital archiving lifecycle; digitisation, migration, preservation, refreshment, sustainable storage
- This module will address many areas of archiving and centre around the effect of the transition from film to digital, including case studies and plans to move into the future.
£200 Fee for module 2 includes:
• 2 days training module

• Any hardcopies of handouts that you will require.

• Networking dinner and wine at an exciting London restaurant.

Please note, there will be a dinner held in a exclusive London location on the evening of the 7th December 2015.
This module is part of a course consisting of a number of two-day taught modules delivered by recognised experts in the field, between October 2015 and March 2016. Indicative module titles are as follows:-
