Event description

Description

This event is open to people that work within the Archive Sector and are thinking about applying to Archives Revealed for a cataloguing grant.

Archives Revealed is a new funding programme from The National Archives and The Pilgrim Trust to support the cataloguing of archive collections. It will transform access to archives for a wide range of users enabling more people to engage with the UKs rich documentary heritage.

Archives Revealed is composed of two funding strands, Cataloguing Grants and Scoping Grants. This workshop pertains to Cataloguing Grants only.

Cataloguing Grants:

Up to £40,000 for archives to create catalogues of important archival collections. The grants will open up access to collections that matter to both researchers and communities and increase public engagement with history.

The application deadline for phase 1 of Cataloguing Grants is 12 January 2018.

During the workshop we will be delivering guidance which will support you to complete a comprehensive Archives Revealed Cataloguing Grant phase 1 application form.

The workshop will particularly focus on writing a statement of significance and crafting a compelling case of need for your project.

There will also be the opportunity for an Archives Revealed Q & A

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

This content of this workshop is also being run at the 2017 DCDC event.

We will be recording the workshop to post on our website for those who are unable to attend.
