About this Event

Arctic One Winter Challenge

We are pleased to be running the "Arctic One Winter Challenge" which will start on 1st December 2019 and end on 29th February 2020. The challenge is run over three months and we would love you to join us and work towards your very own bespoke Bronze, Silver or Gold Arctic One medal.

The entry fee will go towards our ‘Forward Motion’ Grant System' which helps people with disabilities get more active and pursue sport. We are hoping that as the challenge progresses we can highlight some of the individuals and projects your entry fee will help.

To earn an Arctic One Winter Challenge medal, you will need to complete ONE of the following:

Bronze

  1. Complete 50 Hours of your chosen Sport or Activity (This can be any Sport or Activity - you just record the time)
  2. Run, Walk, Push or Row 100km
  3. Cycle 500km
  4. Swim 25km

Silver

  1. Complete 100 Hours of your chosen Sport or Activity (This can be any Sport or Activity - you just record the time)
  2. Run, Walk, Push or Row 200km
  3. Cycle 1000km
  4. Swim 50km

Gold

  1. Complete 150 Hours of your chosen Sport or Activity (This can be any Sport or Activity - you just record the time)
  2. Run, Walk, Push or Row 400km
  3. Cycle 2000km
  4. Swim 100km

For participants under 12 years old, they will need to complete half of the above times and distances to complete their challenge.

Once you have entered, you just need to record your times or distances (you can use any method you prefer to record this) and then submit them to us at the end of the challenge to claim your medal. You do not need to decide which challenge you are going to achieve before you enter and if you hit Bronze, there is nothing to stop you from aiming for Silver.

To take part the cost is £20 for adults and £15 for Juniors (under 16's)

If you would like to fundraise for Arctic One as part of the Challenge, please let us know and we will send you the link to set up a Fundraising Page and help promote your Challenge. The more we can raise as part of the challenge, the more people we can help via the grants.

We would love to have regular updates (distances/times/photos) as to your progress throughout the challenge and will be awarding some spot prizes throughout.
