Gaming has always been a favourite pastime for young people – whether that’s board games, sports, online video games, or mobile apps. While gaming can bring positives such as social connection, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills, it can also come with risks, including excessive play, exploitation, and gambling‑style elements.
This community event will create a safe and supportive space to talk openly about gaming and gambling harms. Together, we’ll explore the role of stigma, how social and cultural factors can influence young people’s choices, and the impact that mental health can have.
Drawing on both the latest research and powerful lived experience, our discussions will promote positive conversation, signpost to support, and equip you with practical steps you can take in your role – whether you’re working or volunteering with young people of any age.
