Charlie Ryan is the founder and Managing Director of The CMR Group, which is made up of CMR Recruitment, CMR Consultancy and The Recruitment Queen. CMR Consultancy was started in 2013 (5 years after CMR Recruitment) and after 20 years in the sales and business world, Charlie believed that successful companies should not be about money; but about the people – ensuring that everyone has a chance to “be the best they can be.” She wanted to make a difference in the challenging world of employee / employer relationships.
Highly dynamic and energetic, Charlie embraces all areas of “people within the workplace” so that employees are motivated and working in the right positions, with employers recruiting, managing and retaining their staff through an understanding of individual’s personalities and motivations. She does this, not just through her own experience and intuition, but using DISC profiling to bring an objective tool to the process.
We all know how important it is to our business to have a good understanding of people, whether they are employees, clients or suppliers. Charlie believes that understanding ourselves is the first part of this successful process, so she would ask you how well do you know yourself and how accepting are you of those areas you don’t like? Embracing this ensures that you and others don’t expect things of you which will be too difficult to deliver.
DISC gives some of the fundamentals in this area and even if you only use it for yourself, this in itself will be empowering. It is one of the most important tools you can have in your toolbox, to engage successfully with others both in work and play.
