Birmingham City Council, Schools Safeguarding
Area Safeguarding Conference
These Area Safeguarding Conferences build on our District Safeguarding Network Briefings. Each Conference is an all-day strategic event designed to look at the wider safeguarding concerns, with invited speakers including regional or national leads. It is the intention of these safeguarding briefings to enable you as a school or setting to meet the statutory requirements laid out in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016 (September). KCSIE 16 requires schools to keep the DSL and all staff up-to-date with safeguarding agenda. The briefing will look at the major topics that will affect schools within the context of District provision, City-wide or National level. Attendance is encouraged from the DSL in every school regardless of its designation and also members of the senior leadership team who have strategic oversight of safeguarding within the organisation. Learning from these conferences can then be cascaded as appropriate to staff within your school.
These District Safeguarding Network Briefings, which are for representatives of Birmingham Schools only we would ask please that each delegate register with their school/setting mailbox address.
We look forward to welcoming you at this event.
