Event description

Description

Dear WP3 members,

On behalf of DANS, we kindly invite you to participate in a three-day event that we will host in The Hague from 16-18 March. The event combines a series of presentations on important best practice issues, with a site visit at the National Museum of Antiquities and the Bibliotheca Thysiana (in Leiden), and two workshops.

The workshop on FAIR data management is tailored to data supporters in the broadest sense and departs from the lifecycle of scientific research data. This session centres around data management planning, with a particular focus on Data Management Plan templates for archaeologists.

The workshop on Trust Concepts and Standards focuses on the why and how of repositories achieving certification. We will be showing the practice of existing repositories, explaining the process of Core Trust Seal certification, and we’ll use the workshop to share experiences among the partner institutions present.

The event is a combined ARIADNE+ and SEADDA meeting, which will give you the opportunity to exchange across both networks.

Travel and accommodation

When you are looking for a hotel in the The Hague, the Ibis hotel in the city centre is well-positioned when you would like to see something of The Hague as well. The NH hotel is situated nearby DANS and the NWO building (a bit more expensive than the Ibis hotel).

In The Hague, the meeting takes place in the arch-shaped building of NWO which is opposite to our DANS office, at a 2-minute walk from the train station Den Haag Laan van NOI.

From The Hague it will take around 20 minutes by train to get to Leiden, but intercity's run regularly (roughly every 15 minutes). You can plan your travels via the website www.9292.nl, as in this example. From Leiden Central Station, it is a 10-minute walk to the National Museum of Antiquities and a 15-minute walk to De Burcht. All places that we will visit in Leiden are indicated by the yellow pins on this map.

Registration

Please let us know which part(s) of the event you wish to attend by purchasing a ticket for each of the items below. Note that for the tour to the Bibliotheca Thysiana on Tuesday 17 March there are only 20 tickets available, which are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Alternatively, you can spend the afternoon returning to the National Museum of Antiquities, or enjoy a walk through the city.

We look forward to seeing you in The Hague!
