ARM Technology Road Show Workshop

Ernest and Frederik Lötter are two South African brothers and Electronics Engineers who have embarked on a trip from the UK to South Africa in their Land Rover Defender . They are benevolently offering some technical workshops to schools, universities, technology hubs and technical business incubators on the way down.
This is a two day workshop on Embedded Linux on ARM using the Raspberry Pi platform at the iHub on the 23rd and 24th of November. The focus of the workshop is Embedded Linux on ARM, and how to create such an environment from scratch (source). They will be using the Raspberry Pi as the platform of choice and give participating students a complete design challenge to end up with a complete working embedded system.
Gearbox is a new makerspace in Kenya, an initiative of iHub and Ushahidi. Gearbox will be an open space for innovation that brings together inventors from diverse backgrounds to prototype, and build their projects by merging the use of both software and hardware.
