Description
This course is designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health and provide help on a first aid basis. Delegates will develop their mental health awareness and are taught a set of skills which enables them to offer appropriate support to someone experiencing mental health conditions.
The Armed Forces MHFA two day course is split up into four manageable chunks. These are:
1. What is mental health, and why Armed Forces MHFA?
2. Suicide and depression
3. Psychosis
4. Anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.
In each section delegates will learn how to:
A. Spot the early signs of mental health issue
B. Feel confident helping someone experiencing a mental health issue
C. Provide help on a first aid basis
D. Help prevent someone from hurting themselves or others
E. Help stop a mental health issue from getting worse
F. Help someone recover faster
G. Guide someone towards the right support
H. Reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
These topics have been specifically tailored to the Armed Forces Community and its culture.
Note: Accomodation is not supplied. Parking is available and delegates are expected to make their own travel arrangements for each day.
There are no course fees; however, delegates who book a place and do not attend will be charged the full rate of £375 per delegate per day. Please secure your line manager's or training account manager's permission before booking.
