Armitage with Handsacre Residents Meeting
Date and time
A meeting for residents to discuss the ongoing issues with the increase in traffic, speeding and HGVs using the village.
About this event
The Armitage and Handsacre Community Speed Watch has been an active volunteer group since 2019. We hoped to have made a difference by now, but we are still struggling to get assistance from third parties to help implement further traffic calming measures.
Our concern is growing about the volume and speed of vehicles using the village, especially during the evening when speeds appear higher. We've had many reports of near misses and irresponsible driving, which could worsen with developments for more homes on either side of the village.
We are holding a public meeting for residents to voice their views and concerns about the speeding issue and the problem of HGVs using the village.
We intend to invite other stakeholders including local business owners and schools, the Parish and County Council, Staffordshire Police and Community Speed Watch, and the Highways Agency, to attend and answer any questions you may have.
Whilst the HGV issue is not the responsibility of the Community Speed Watch volunteers, holding a meeting to address both subjects would be advantageous, as both matters raise safety and environmental concerns.
If you would like to attend this meeting to support your local community speed watch group and help us push for further traffic calming measures, book your free place now. Any questions please send an email to armitagecsw@gmail.com
