Overview
In this 3-day course, you'll learn the techniques required to create rectangular armrests in the Louis XVI tradition and cylindrical armrests in the Empire style. Guided by Armand Verdier, you'll gain tuition in precise setting out, controlled stuffing and stitching to a fine crisp finish.
About the tutor
Armand Verdier is an esteemed upholsterer known for his flawless execution and mastery of French Traditional Upholstery. With over 25 years of experience, Armand has worked with high-end interior designers, stately homes, and luxury hotels, honing his skills in both the UK and France. His work is highly sought after by antique dealers, designers, and private clients for its exceptional craftsmanship. Since 2013, Armand has been dedicated to teaching and demonstrating the techniques of French Upholstery, becoming the UK's pre-eminent instructor in this prestigious craft.
Skill level required
This course requires a basic to intermediate level of upholstery skill to complete.
What to bring
You will require a small amount of fabric and some passementerie to finish the arms. A basic upholstery tool kit will also be required. Students will be emailed a month before the course with requirements.
