Question 1

How old do I need to be to attend?

Our target audience is between 15 - 23 years old but not limited to this age. All under 18's require parent or guardian to be present. This is a family friendly event.

Question 2

I am travelling by train. What is the nearest station?

Accepted Answer

Hightown Station. It is a short 300m walk to Altcar Training Camp gates.

Question 3

What should I wear on the day. Do I need to bring anything with me?

Accepted Answer

Most of the event will be held outside so please dress comfortably for the weather on the day. We have tried to book sunny weather but please make sure that you bring something to keep you warm and dry if the weather turns! The event is on grass (could get muddy) so sensible shoes are advised.

Is there anywhere to purchase lunch and refreshments whilst we are at the event?

A free BBQ lunch will provided for all those who sign up for a ticket. The food will be prepared by our very own Royal Logistic Corps Chefs. Tea, coffee, and water will be provided throughout the day - all free of charge.

Question 5

I am travelling by car. What do I need to do when I arrive?

Accepted Answer

When you arrive, you will be greeted by a soldier wearing a high visibility vest. You will be asked for the name and email address of the person who ordered your tickets and then you will be signed in. They will then direct you to the car park. Someone will then direct you from there.

Question 6

I am travelling by train. What do I need to do when I arrive?

From the train station, follow signs to Altcar Training Camp. At the gate, you will be greeted by a soldier wearing a high visibility vest. You will be asked for the name and email address of the person who ordered your tickets and then you will be signed in. We will direct you from here.

Question 7

Can I bring my dog to the event?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, not. Although this is a family friendly event, we cannot allow dogs or other pets on to the premises. This is for health and safety reasons as there will be vehicles moving around the area.

Question 8

What time do I need to arrive on the day?

We kindly ask that you arrive promptly between 09:15 and 10:00 am. If you arrive before then, there may not be anyone in position to guide you further. If you arrive a little late then we will still be there to direct you but you may miss some of the opening activity.

Question 9

Does the event cater for wheelchair access?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, due to the event being held on grass and some gravel, wheelchair accessibility would be challenging for large parts on the event. If unsure, please get in touch to discuss with the event organiser.

Question 10

Are any of the activities physically demanding?

Accepted Answer

No. Unfortunately we are not insured to take you over obstacle courses! Our activities are fun but not physically demanding.
