Our Army Insight & Leadership Day is a one-of-a-kind event where you can gain valuable insights into the world of the military. Get a firsthand look at the life of a soldier, participate in leadership activities, and interact with experienced army personnel. Whether you're curious about a career in the armed forces or simply want to broaden your horizons, this event is perfect for you. You'll also hear from our armed forces staff network about the support available in Derbyshire, and how you can level up your work with the forces family.
Lunch provided, and plenty of goodies thrown in!
This will be the third time we have hosted this event, organised by DCHS/DHCFT's AFC staff network.
Frequently asked questions
You will only take part in tasks that you feel competent to complete. There will be some standing and walking for extended periods. Please let the instructors know of any limitations. There will be a mixture of command and classroom tasks. Please speak to the organiser if you have questions.
Layers are best! Hiking or gym kit: waterproof jacket, walking boots/trail trainers.
Water bottle and any other essential items.
Yes! Lunch will be provided (buffet style). Please let us know of any dietary requirements or allergies.

We ask that you arrive at the gate promptly between 0915 and 0930. You will be entering a military camp, so security staff will need to be process the group.
Please arrive promptly! Work out the route the night before and allow plenty of time for traffic. Latecomers (over 15 mins late) will be not be able to join as we will have completed security/check in by that point.
If you want to, please do. You will be encouraged to mix with other colleagues that you don't usually work with; and you won't be on your own at any point.
