Description

Celebrating army museums in the UK

Army Museums Ogilby Trust (AMOT) is building on a successful programme of activity to deliver a two day Army Museums Festival for 2017. This year, we combine our already popular one day AMOT Annual Conference with activity supported from our Arts Council England funded programme. This means we are able to offer the sector the opportunity to attend a packed programme, offering updates on the sector, advice and guidance to support delivery, practical hands-on workshops, and an evening event to support networking and skills share. We’re also very keen to learn from your current work and gather information from the sector about how we can better support you into the future.

The festival will take place at two fantastic London venues - Wednesday 11th October will be at Mercers' Hall, Thursday 12th October at the Churchill War Rooms. These exciting and accessbile venues will make for an inspirational event not to be missed.

The event has three parts:

09.00 - 17.00 Wednesday 11th October: This day provides the traditional format of the AMOT Annual Conference, this year with the theme of Bricks & clicks - collections both physical and digital. Delegates will hear sector updates and activity, important case studies, and enjoy key note speakers from partners, stakeholders and those outside the sector, as well as a range of exhibitors.

18.00 - 20.00 Wednesday 11th October:Our conference evening will take on a whole new format this year! Our networking event will support you to make connections with a wide range of individuals and organisations across all sectors as well as provide you with Top Tips from industry specialists at our ‘hot desks’ on areas including - funding & social investment, strategic planning, marketing & communications, digital & social media, governance & legal structures, accounts & financial management, evaluation and impact measurement. We will also be providing you with a Top Tips sheet on how to get the most out of the evening!

10.00 - 16.00 Thursday 12th October: Our final day will run as a series of workshops to provide practical hands-on advice and guidance on key areas affecting army museum delivery. This will include evaluation, governance change, social media and wider communications support, audience development ,and fund-raising.

When booking your place, please either book for the full festival, or ensure you tick each of the events you would like to attend over the course of the festival. The cost of the event is part funded by Arts Council England as a key component of our funded project Army Museums into the Future. This means that the fee you pay relates to the delivery of Day 1 only.

Booking deadline is Monday 9th October, although please note if you book after 5pm on Thursday 5th October you may not appear on the delegate list and your name badge may be hand written.
