Around the World by Tandem

Kirsty and Marcus left Bristol in August 2014 with a rough idea of a route that would take them around the world. They travelled for 851 days on a tandem bike returning home to Bristol on 13th December 2016. Behind them was a trip that took us through 46 countries, covering 47,062km by pedal power and along the way they experienced a world full of wonder and kindness.

Along the way there were mountains, deserts, forests and cities with a long and winding road to ride along between them. A daunting prospect!

On the way they camped in sub zero temperatures in Poland and sought shade from 47-degree heat in Tajikistan, lost the tandem in Kyrgyzstan and ran a half marathon in North Korea!
