Event description

Description

Our first community nail bar opened its doors on Dollis Valley Estate in 2012. The young women we met told us they wanted to ‘put the estate on the map for something positive, not just negative things like stabbings” 5 years later they’ve done just that.

The In Our Hands programme now consists of 2 community nail bars, with a 3rd one on the way, a training programme and regular pop-ups across London. We embed specialist expertise into nail bars that are part of community life, allowing us to intervene early and significantly reduce the risks young women and girls face.

To celebrate, we’re opening the doors of our nail bar on International Day of the Girl for an evening of nail painting, entertainment, art and conversation. Our technicians and team members are on hand to share their experiences, our impact & vision for supporting young women across London. We’re thrilled to be joined by Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor of London and Head of Policing and Crime.

We hope to inspire you to join us in our mission to support hundreds more young women across London.
