What will this course cover?

This course will explore how to analyse the formal elements of art, interpret symbolism and themes. You will consider cultural and historical context to deepen your understanding of artwork.

What will I get out of this course?

You will gain skills to look at art with confidence, interpret its meaning and appreciate its cultural and historical significance more deeply.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills or experience?

This is an entry-level course with no prior knowledge of art history or analysis required.

What do I need to bring with me?

No equipment is needed aside from a curious mind and willingness to enter discussion with the class. You may wish to bring a notepad and pen to jot down your thoughts.
