What will this course cover?
This course will cover the popular 19th century art movement of Impressionism, which is charecterised by its free brushstrokes and yet ordinary subject matter. You will look at paintings from the likes of Monet to Renoir, who's work transformed the world of modern art.
What will I get out of this course?
You will gain a deeper understanding of Impressionist painting, the history and contexts that surrounded the movement, and the techniques used to create it. Join tutor Debra Collis and a community of likeminded learners in this four week course.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills or experience?
This is an intermediate level course - you may need some knowledge of art movements of the 19th century to engage in class discussion, however, an interest in Impressionism and open mind is all that is needed to enjoy the course.
What do I need to bring with me?
You do not need to bring any equipment, but you may wish to bring a pen and notepad to jot down your thoughts.
