The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design. From paintings to prints, to sculpture, fashion and furniture, it houses a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. During this intimate class, Guardian art critic Jonathan Jones will guide a small group of people around the Victoria and Albert Museum, one of Jonathan’s favourite museums in London.

In this morning Masterclass, Jonathan will take you on a mystery tour, revealing surprises contained in this world-renowned museum of art and design. Along the way, you’ll learn how to interpret and appreciate great works of art and sculpture. Plus, you’ll learn how to enjoy art and design more fully, and have plenty of opportunities to chat with Jonathan and ask any questions you might have about art.

More about your teacher…

Jonathan Jones writes on art for the Guardian and was on the jury for the 2009 Turner prize. He also writes the series Framing the debate, which takes a closer look at photographs and videos that divide opinion. Jonathan is the author of two books on art, The Lost Battles: Leonardo, Michelangelo and the Artistic Duel That Defined the Renaissance and The Loves of the Artists. Read his Guardian articles here.
