Throughout history, women have made powerful contributions to the world of art. Yet for many years, their stories were underrepresented or left out entirely.

In this course, you’ll discover how women artists have helped shape art across cultures and centuries, and shine a light on their achievements and the barriers they faced.

What will this course cover?

We’ll look at a range of female artists and their work, exploring key movements, themes and techniques. This course will also cover the role of gender in the art world and how women have fought for space, recognition and creative freedom.

What will I get out of this course?

You’ll come away with a broader understanding of art history and a deeper appreciation for the women who have shaped it. You’ll build confidence in looking at and talking about artworks, and gain insight into the cultural, political and personal stories behind them.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills or experience?

The course is suitable for all, those who have a familiarity with the subject and those who are coming to it for the first time.

What do I need to bring with me?
