Guildford's streets and gardens display a multitude of art works. A scholar leaps down the High Street, a girl emerges from a mirror, a king and queen tell the time. Who were the contemporary artists who created these works and what stories from the past inspired them? On this walk you will find the answers as well as discover the stories of John Russell, a contemporary and rival of Sir Joshua Reynold, G F Watts, and J M W Turner
The walk is about a half a mile long with regular stops, and about 90 minutes in duration. You should wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather conditions.
"The art works in town may be familiar, but do you know who put them there and why? On this walk you can find out. " - Val Bale guide
