Watercolours were traditionally was seen as a secondary medium compared to the high status of the oil and acrylic paint. The supremacy of watercolor is that it is versatile medium that can instantly create colour, tone and give life to an idea. It can also be used to create more developed pieces of artwork. The landscape has inspired many traditional painters, and it continues to enthuse and animate contemporary painters. You will explore landscape painting in watercolour by creating experimental sketches, mixing colour and apply the different elements of painting. Your creative ideas will grow as you learn the serendipitous side of this medium as well as its simplicity of defining a form.
The course is held in the historical Royal Windsor, the river Thames and Windsor Castle is less than 10 minutes walk.
