About this event

Welcome to Art Club! These free sessions are for children aged 5-11 to attend with their families. Siblings are welcome. We welcome anybody who feels they need a bit of extra support.

These visual arts workshops will allow you to explore your creativity through colour, shape and texture. Come on an art adventure with us!

Join Artist Karen Hall for a summer of working with textiles and mixed media. Karen will be sharing how to design and weave your own wall hanging, exploring how to use fabric as collage and more!

This session will include the same content as the 10am session. You do not need to attend both sessions, please book for the time that works best for you.

All materials will be provided and the artist will always ask how to adapt the activity to best suit you or your child. Everyone is welcome to try things out at their own pace and will be supported in giving things a go.

The Point is an accessible building with a Changing Place (including hoist) and quiet spaces for anyone who needs a breather. If it would be useful to know more about the session before attending, please email Sophie at sophie@wearedarts.org.uk

These sessions are free to attend, but places are limited so booking is essential. Please ensure that you book an adult ticket for any accompanying adults. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Organised by

darts creates art with people in Doncaster to improve life, learning and health. We make high-quality, inclusive, creative experiences across the borough of Doncaster. Our programmes are open to everyone, particularly those who have the least access to the arts. Our purpose is for anyone in Doncaster to learn and connect by taking part in the arts.

Our mission is for everyone to feel an accepted and valued part of the community, creating a healthier and more connected society.

Our values are:

  • Create: Making art allows us to see ourselves and the world differently
  • Connect: Coming together to make art builds a sense of community
  • Respond: We listen, adapt and act
  • Include: Everyone has a place and a voice
  • Evolve: Learning informs practice, improving the experience for all

The Point is our home – it is a purpose-built arts centre in the middle of Doncaster to make and share art.

We have a light-filled gallery, Creative workshop spaces, Café and gardens. We are a friendly welcoming building where lots of creative activity happens and a regular programme of family-friendly and world-class exhibitions, events and activities.
