Art Deco: A Century of Style
Overview
This year marks a century since the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes in Paris – the exhibition that gave Art Deco its name and shaped modern aesthetics with its blend of luxury, geometry and optimism.
Join us for a special lecture by historian Emma Bastin, whose research focuses on the cultural history of the interwar years. She will trace Art Deco’s rise from 1920s France to its global presence, exploring how the style bridged tradition and modernity, and how it left its mark on interiors, furniture, glass, fashion and jewellery.
We hope you’ll join us.
