Art Exhibition: "Beyond the depths of Skin" (Private view & Opening)
Wed 12 April 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
ARTIST CAPTURES DEEP REACTIONS TO ISSUES AFFECTING OUR WORLD TODAY (Birmingham – 12th March 2017 – for immediate release) In April 2017, Carrs Lane Church and Conference Centre will be playing host to a unique exhibition, created in response to the intense realities of working with people and communities in the face of current socio-political issues. The exhibition, entitled ‘Beyond The Depths Of Skin’, will feature work by Birmingham based painter, Eddy Aigbe. The show will include paintings and drawings, and hopes to evoke feelings and sensitivities beyond physical appearances. Eddy who has worked actively as a community worker in different capacities for almost a decade now, explains the significance of the show: ‘Art speaks, it informs, and reveals beyond what the eye sees or is captured by a photo. This is my attempt to take away the superficial and reveal the deep effects of today’s socio-political crisis.’ His subjects are people; his inspiration is emotive; and a visual salute to honour individuals and groups who provide support for such as these. The Exhibition will run from the 12th of April to 19th April 20117 at The Church at Carrs Lane (next to M&S), Carrs Lane, Birmingham, B4 7SX.
