About this event

Step into the shadows of art history this Halloween with Art Goss Presents: Wicked Witches in Art History. From medieval manuscripts to Renaissance paintings and beyond, witches have haunted, fascinated, and inspired artists for centuries. This special seasonal talk will uncover how witches were imagined, feared, and celebrated across time as symbols of danger, rebellion, mystery, and empowerment.

We’ll trace the evolution of the “witch” in art, meet some of the most infamous witchy characters to appear on canvas and in print, and see how artists used witchcraft imagery to reflect cultural anxieties, gender politics, and shifting ideas of power.

Whether you’re an art lover, a history enthusiast, or simply in search of some Halloween magic, join us for a spellbinding evening of storytelling, visuals, and discussion.

Hosted by artist and curator Liv Askwith, whose work explores hyper-femininity and draws deeply from the well of art history.

Strictly adults only - lots of swearing, sass, and no-holds-barred commentary included.
