No Wealth But Life: Inspiring the Pre-Raphaelites

Friday 11 May – Friday 15 June

10.15am-12.15pm

Abington Park Museum

Our seventh art history lecture series returns to highlight some of the most popular works in Northampton Museums and Art Gallery’s collection. The fusion of realistic depiction of the natural world with dreamlike sequences from religion and mythology created by the Pre-Raphaelite artists has long held the fascination of their audience. This lecture series, presented by ProArtium (art historians Dr Conny Bailey, Dr Miriam Gill and Dr Ellie Pridgeon), will explore the different inspirations that underpin the creation of some of the world’s most recognisable images through the works of Edward Burne Jones, William Holman Hunt and John William Inchbold.
