Topographies of Thought: Understanding Landscape

Fridays: on 2 May, 9 May. 16 May, 23 May. 6 June

10.15am – 12.15pm

Northampton Museum & Art Gallery

Paintings of landscape explore where we think we are geographically, environmentally and emotionally. They show the power of art to capture the beauty and wonder of the natural world and inner landscapes of human feeling. Some landscapes are familiar, even commonplace, others romantic and exotic. These five lectures trace the development of landscape as a theme and the ways it evokes soundscape or change through time.
