Art History Mini Course: Bauhaus Women Artists
Event Information
About this event
Join us for an Art History mini-course on Bauhaus women artists! They innovated and took their practices to new levels, however they are little known still today, regardless their outstanding achievements. Compelling and relevant, these talks are meant to thought-provoke and inspire an interactive dialogue:
- Tuesday 8th Feb: Weaving - Günta Stölzl, Annie Albers and others
- Tuesday 15th Feb: Photography - Gertrud Arndt, Lucia Moholy and others
- Tuesday 22nd Feb: Furniture making (Tischlerei) - Alma Siedhoff-Buscher , Wera Meyer-Waldeck and others.
You can take all three talks or a combination of them, they are priced separately. You will receive a private recording available for 2 weeks, very useful in case you cannot attend.
About the speaker: Mirjam Deckers is a Dutch art historian working for the Gunta Stölzl Foundation. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen with a project mapping Stölzl’s entire oeuvre and researching its relevance for a more diverse and inclusive art history.
