The Art House Open Lecture Series 2021-22
Meadow Arts and the University of Worcester’s Fine Art department are pleased to present their seventh season of contemporary artists' talks. Some of the most exciting contemporary artists currently making work in the UK will talk about their artwork, ideas and the processes they use, in talks taking place either at The Art House studios or online (selected talks).
Talks take place on selected dates at 4:30pm. Each artist will present their work, there'll be an 'in conversation' session with them and Meadow Arts or the University of Worcester's team and then there'll be a space for public questions.

Lucy Wright is an artist and researcher living in West Yorkshire.
Following a stint as the lead singer in BBC Folk Award-nominated act, Pilgrims’ Way, she turned her attention to exploring and documenting the ‘hidden’ folk arts of the UK and beyond, particularly those practiced by women and other marginalised people. Her work, which includes painting, writing and social practice tells alternative stories about British culture and heritage, often referencing and subverting historical folk practices to explore and comment on contemporary issues, as well as inventing new traditions for our divided society.
She has exhibited at Compton Verney, Cecil Sharp House and the Cello Factory, undertaken residencies for Morning Boat, Jersey and Airspace Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent and completed a practice PhD at Manchester School of Art. Recent projects have included commissions for Meadow Arts and the Leeds Piano Trail, exhibitions at Shrewsbury Museum and Lancashire Encounter Festival and consultancy work for UNESCO, amongst other things.
In 2022, her project, ‘Plough Witches’ will be shown as part of The other overlapping time at Mead Gallery, Coventry
