ART MACABRE presents
A twisted Christmas event @ The Proud Archivist
Thurs 19 December 2013
Explore the darker side of Yuletide and have yourself a scary little Christmas at Art Macabre’s Death Drawing Grotto. Celebrate the Winter Solstice in style, sketching alternative festive scenes featuring horned beasts, nude trolls and pagan rituals. Meet Krampus, the devilishly cruel counterpart of Saint Nicholas, and create hand-drawn Christmas cards with a difference. It won't be a silent night, with an alternative winter soundscape and creepy Christmas covers playing to sketch along to.
Featuring horned headwear designs created by Hysteria Machine and the opportunity to view the Gathering Storm exhibition within the Proud Archivist's gallery. Delicious seasonal menu of food and drinks available at the bar, including Meantime beers, ales, spirits and cocktails.
Art Macabre are pioneers of 'death drawing'- taking traditional life drawing and injecting a lethal dose of curiosity, costume, props and theatricality with different macabre themes at each event. We believe that everyone can enjoy drawing, given the right inspiration, so pick up a pencil and draw with us as the longest, darkest night of the year approaches.
The Proud Archivist is a new venue situated on Regent's Canal near Haggerston Overground station. The Proud Archivist is a combined gallery, bar, restaurant, cafe and events space, serving fabulous food and drink in a stylish setting.
Over 18s only. Tickets £10 in advance, £15 on the door. Tickets include drawing materials and paper provided (pens, pencils, charcoal) thanks to sponsorship by Cass Art supplies (www.cassart.co.uk). Feel free to bring your own sketchpad and additional favourite drawing materials.
