Art of Health & Wellbeing, Training and Networking Seminar.   Join Helfa Gelf & Engage Cymru for a day at Storiel, Bangor's Museum & Art Gallery.

Aims:  

  • To explore inspiring and innovative practice in the field of arts and health in North Wales and beyond
  • To offer a range of inspiring practical workshops delivered by experts in the field of arts, health and wellbeing
  • Support delegates with their continuing professional development including signposting to key Welsh policy and agendas, and North Wales counties’ initiatives and programmes
  • Encourage valuable networking opportunities

Target Audience:            Artists, arts organisations, health professionals, arts facilitators/coordinators.

Speakers and facilitators:-

  • Claire Ford, creator of “We engAGE” - Digital Creativity for Older People inspiring curiosity and engagement
  • Teri Howson, Bangor University ‘Dementia & Imagination’- Theatre practitioner interested in using place, the senses and participation to create therapeutic experiences
  • Dr Maria Hayes, an award winning artist and educator, who successfully project managed Arteffact 2015 in North Wales
  • Sian Fitzgerald, Arts Development Officer, Denbighshire County Council – Lost in Art – a four county programme initiated by Denbighshire County Council for people with dementia and their carers
  • Gwawr Roberts, Arts Development Officer, Gwynedd County Council
  • Liz Aylett, BCUHB Head of Arts Therapies and Programme Manager Creative Well
  • Andrea Davies, BCUHB Arts in Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Creative Well programme
  • Angela Rogers, engage Cymru – The All Wales Arts Health & Wellbeing Network
  • Katie Trent, Training Coordinator, Helfa Gelf

The afternoon session will provide an opportunity to participate in practical workshops where you will receive taster sessions that can be delivered to client groups

From Storiel the central bus station is 1 minute walk while Bangor train station is 12 minutes walk.

There is no free car parking at Storiel.  2 parking space for blue badge holders.  The nearest all day parking to Storiel is Euro Car Park, Cathedral, Glanrafon, Bangor, LL57 1L , £3 all day.  For more info on car parking in Bangor see: Parking Info  (NB: Storiel is next to the North Wales Police)
