At our July AOP gathering, we will bring together a diverse group of inspiring leaders that believe digital and wider tech transformation is a continuous process - a state of mind that enables a company to continually evolve and adapt with an eye on the future.

Anthony Burns - Chief Operating Officer, ACS Clothing

Under Anthony’s leadership, ACS has been transformed into a circular fashion enterprise with clothes rental offerings for woman, men, children and babies. The company has already achieved zero waste to landfill, carbon neutrality, and are working towards net zero emissions. Anthony has expanded the company’s expertise into garment refurbishment where they transform clothes normally deemed unusable by retailers, into clothes as good as new, which can be resold, and their lifespan significantly increased, part of which has been achieved through implementing ozone cleaning technology.

Karen Greenshields – Managing Director, Technical and Environmental Services, GAP Group

GAP Group, the UK’s largest independent equipment hire company, has launched an industry-first mental health and wellbeing platform to support its workforce - The GAP Wellbeing Hub. The platform was developed in partnership with wellbeing tech specialist Frog Systems and is freely available to all GAP staff and their families. At this event, Karen will talk about their experience as a company in recognising the importance and scale of this challenge throughout their workforce, and how - within an industry that has high levels of stigma and challenges of mental health – they are tackling this head-on and pioneering a progressive, tech-enabled culture change, both within their company and the construction sector at large.

Angela Prentner-Smith – Founder and MD, This Is Milk

Angela is a highly skilled, inspiring and innovative digital leader. With an unwavering dedication to customer and human-focused design and change within organisations, she has the leadership ability, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills needed to transform businesses.  Angela has been working in digital before it was even called digital – embedding human-centred design practices into change and software programme methods, products and service. She has the rare experience of being involved in digital change and transformation end to end within a business – not just front end - which she will share her experience of at this event, offering insights and reflections from her work with many different styles and scales of organisations throughout all industries.

Prof Eleanor Shaw – Professor of Entrepreneurship & Associate Principle, University of Strathclyde

Eleanor graduated with an MA and PhD from the University of Glasgow and after a brief spell in financial services has been working in the University sector for more than two decades. Eleanor is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and she has worked at various universities here in the UK as well as in North America, South America, Europe and New Zealand. Her research on women’s’ entrepreneurship has been influential in both Scottish and UK Government support for female entrepreneurs, her work on social entrepreneurship has been very highly cited and she is recognised as one of the first entrepreneurship scholars to explore this important sector. She was Director of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship for 6 years and in her current role, she is responsible for the University’s entrepreneurship strategy, branded as Strathclyde Inspire.

The Art of Possible is all about sharing ideas, community building and sparking new connections - so please join us at 10.45am to meet your fellow attendees in our lightning chat sessions. This’ll be a friendly and informal way to say hello and fuel discussions ahead of the main event.
