Description

The teams from Learning Improvement (Leeds City Council), The Science & Technology Facilities Council and OCEANN SM&ART invite children and families from supplementary schools to the free event.

The aim of the event is to create an open, safe and friendly educational environment for children and parents and to build links with the organisations, supplementary schools and communities for cultural and educational exchange.

At this festival you will take part in the following activities:

  • The planetarium show
  • Meteorites display
  • Learn how to use an infra-red camera
  • Fun physics
  • Fun chemistry
  • Fun maths
  • Robotics and much more

We will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the NASA Moon Landings, as well as this, we will learn the historical facts about the missions.

Children are invited to take part in Rocket modelling competition. At home, build a 21st century rocket or create a poster about it's functions and design and bring it in with you for the exhibition. Prizes will be awarded for most creative and innovatiove ideas!

According to H&S and the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies & Systems every child under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult (a parent or a career).
