Description
Art Squash! is a super practical event aimed at helping you get ahead in the art world. With engaging quick fire talks and open discussion, five leading art world experts will speak on five different topics helping you to get your art work out there.
The five topics and five speakers are:
'Money Matters: The Golden Rules of Selling Your Art'
With Rosalind Davis, Curator at Collyer Bristow Gallery and author of 'What They Didn't Teach You in Art School: How to Survive as an Artist in the Real World'. Rosalind will speak on making contracts with galleries and how to build a market and sell you art online.
'How to Negotiate Empty Spaces with Councils'
Nick Malyan is Co-Director of Empty Shop CIC, a North East based arts organisation. Specialist placemakers Empty Shop have utilised 37 separate premises to date. Nick will speak on how to negotiate alternative exhibition spaces.
'How to Survive After Art School for International Students'
With Koari Homma, international artist, fine art tutor at Central Saint Martin's college London and coordinator of Art Action UK an arts charity which works with artists between England and Japan.
'Using the Alumni Association to Maintain relationships after College'
With Maria Ryan, Alumni Relations Coordinator.
'Properly Balancing Art and Life'
With Alastair Gordon, internationally renowed artist, curator, lecturer, author, director of Husk gallery London, director of arts charity Morphe Arts and father of one. Ally will speak on tips to have a healthy balance between your art practice and other areas of life.
After the 5 talks there will be a panel discussion where you can ask more questions. Then drinks and networking till 17:00 with an opportunity to see the Wimbledon MFA Fine Art final show.
