Event description
The latest in the Art Unlocked series. Join Art UK and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery in exploring selected artworks from their collection.

About this event

Art Unlocked is a new online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.

For our latest talk, join Art UK and Duncan Walker, Curator of the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this collection on 27th October 2021, 5:30pm.

Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar. You will be sent the link to join a few days before the talk is scheduled to take place. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.

The talk is free but there is the option to donate to Art UK and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum alongside your ticket. Any donations are much appreciated and go towards supporting the UK's national collection.

About the The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum

The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum was founded by hotelier Sir Merton (1835–1921) and Lady (1835–1920) Russell-Cotes on Bournemouth's East Cliff. It is a rare survivor, being the residence of a Victorian private collector, purpose-designed to show the owner’s collections and entertain visitors.

Our collection of mainly nineteenth and early twentieth-century paintings can be viewed within their original context of sumptuous period interiors.

Our first curators added to the collections - acquiring significant works by key artists. The collection now ranges from the Renaissance through to the 20th century. Female and European artists are well represented too.

You can follow The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
